Sadly this is the only game I've ever played that encourages and rewards people for being jerks and penalizes people that don't.

Anyway, no there should be no penalties beyond what is already there.

You only ever seem to post on the theme of "piracy is bad".
I'm a carebear, but I did bother to find out what the game is like before I started playing. That's why I don't complain (okay, so I grumble quietly) when I get ganked by nasty pirates.
Are you on some sort of one-man campaign to rid EvE of PvP?
Not at all. PvP is great and a lot of fun. Even combat! It's the piracy that I find distastful. Noob killing for fun. Gate camping. Smack. You get the idea. I'm just generally against people acting like jackasses in and out of RL. Call it a stance for general decency in the little thing I like to call civilization. Encouraging people to bounce around grunting and farting while bashing children with clubs and then rewarding them for it with the kid's bag of candy is generally considered... well... bad. The saddest thing is that there is always a large group of people that rush to do this and then pose proudly for photos. It never ceases to amaze me how despicable some people act when the threat of justice is removed from the equation.

Don't delude yourself into thinking that piracy exists in Eve Online.
Funny, I thought I saw a video recently about a pirate corp turning mercenary. Must have been noob-gankers who are now being paid to PvP I suppose.
Probably. Sometimes even street thugs decide to take it up a notch and organise their efforts. It's sad really.

Oh yeah, and all my old friends from my last corp, they all turned pirate, and will also soon be going mercenary, and I know they don't go aroung ganking noobs, so how about everyone who makes such poors attempts to insult a group of gamers they don't happen to like STFU's.
